Dear local organisers of CEE Spring,

the moment has come to start this year's edition of the contest. Most of
you are ready with their article lists [1], which is great, and some of you
have posted their local rules on Meta [2], which is good. You can use the
example site notice [3], which is average at best, and use last year's
press releases [4], which are still great.

You can use the CEE Spring blog [5] for your own texts, because it is
multilingual. Last year there were posts in it in 7 CEE languages, let us
use it more this year! You can also post from the social media accounts of
the contest on Facebook [6] (you can target your own language or region
here!) and Twitter [7] (you cannot do that here, but in some countries
Twitter is more popular than Facebook [8]).

Please don't hesitate to contact us with information and ideas about this
year's prizes. This year's fiscal sponsor, Wikimedia Austria, does not need
to restrict the prizes to books and other reference materials, which means
that you have freedom to choose everything, which is suitable for your
communities, as long as you can explain to us why it is so. As you can see
the rules on international level have become shorter [9]. It is still early
days, but don't send the invoices to Wikimedia Poland, but to Wikimedia

If you have some spare time you can write to embassies and cultural
institutes of CEE countries in your cities and tell them about the contest.
They might wish to host an edit-a-thon or donate materials for the creation
of articles. You can use CEE Spring as a reason to speak with a museum
about donating content to Commons or you can even combine it with Europeana
1914-18 [10]

All in all, don't forget to have fun, write articles and spread the word
about as many notable personalities, events and cultural aspects of our
region, as you can.

Best regards,
Nikola / User:Лорд Бъмбъри
